First Chemotherapy Robot in Use at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

Compounding of a range of chemotherapy products is now being carried out by the world’s first
automatic compounder at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Use of the CytoCare robot is expected to address capacity issues as well as improving the safety, accuracy and workflow of chemotherapy compounding.

Safer Surgery Checklist and Patient Identification Seminar

The pre-procedural checklist is being rolled out across Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust following the recent publication of the results of the WHO study. Members of the CPPSQ who were involved in the study will be supporting the implementation. The specialist services Clinical Programme Group at ICHT is running a clinical governance seminar on surgical safety on 3rd February in preparation for the Trust's launch of the checklist. Clinical director Professor James Van Dellen and head of nursing Lesley Powls will be leading the seminar and Krishna Moorthy will be one of the speakers.
