Design & Evaluation for Quality & Safety

Prof DarziTechnology and design are essential for improving the reliability and efficiency of healthcare. However, some technology is developed with little regard for the user and the setting in which it will be used. This programme will develop, test and evaluate the impact of healthcare technologies, with particular attention to human factors and usability issues.

Our aims are to evaluate specific technologies and to learn general lessons about usability, design and application. We also intend, with our partners in healthcare design and industry, to design and develop new technologies ourselves to solve specific problems identified within other programme.
